Meet Dr Katharine Lindsay
Psychiatrist
Dr Lindsay will be joining the Helping Humans Thrive team and working from our Lindfield office from July 2026.
Dr Katharine Lindsay is a highly experienced psychiatrist with more than two decades of experience working across public and private mental health settings, both within Australia and internationally.
A Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), Dr Lindsay completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town in 1991 before relocating to Australia, where she completed her specialist psychiatry training in 2001.
Throughout her career, Dr Lindsay has worked across a broad range of psychiatric settings including tertiary hospitals, community mental health services, inpatient care, and international health systems. Her professional journey has taken her across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Middle East, where she spent five years practising psychiatry in the Sultanate of Oman. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experience, culture, identity, and emotional wellbeing.
Dr Lindsay brings a warm, collaborative, and recovery-focused approach to treatment. She is passionate about helping people better understand themselves, navigate periods of emotional difficulty, and move towards a more meaningful and connected life. She values genuine therapeutic relationships and believes that healing occurs through compassion, collaboration, and personalised care.
Her clinical approach is multimodal and incorporates psychotherapy as an important part of treatment. Dr Lindsay recognises that recovery looks different for every individual and works closely with clients and their wider healthcare team to provide thoughtful, holistic support.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Lindsay is deeply committed to medical education. She holds a postgraduate qualification in medical education and continues to teach through the University of Sydney, while also working as a supervisor and examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Lindsay works with individuals aged 17–65 and has particular interests in the areas outlined below.
